Gardening Tool & Signage

Sooo I got this New Tool here recently...

it's called Sprayman Green Mister

it was only 10 dollars at Lowes...

I did look on the Lowes website but did not find it...

BTW-
I am not promoting anything or anyone ...just for the Garden/ tool shed of fun!

And I LoVe GardeN Tools!!! ;)

This Tool holds more than the Reg. Water bottle plus it has a hole to where you can re-fill without opening up the top...its great til you tip it over flooding your plants a bit...Im not going to lie - it really did take me a while to get used to it....
the way it is in the instagram  pic is how I hold it most of the time....

Up to you if you want to spend the $$ the spray nozzle on it works soooooo GOOD!!!

I believe it was worth the 10bucks for the nozzle and how much water it holds.

Did a little signage as well for my Spinach & Zucchini plants..

Nite Yall! :)

Pictures- pre planting

Soooo the the weather change here in Oklahoma really messed with the temp and etc in the
Green house....I lost about 11 plants total that included the greenhouse move as well... very upsetting because 3 of those were medium size Zucchini....

so this little zucchini plant brings me a lot of joy..aka my plan D....PLANT4!

Out of those 11 plants I lost 2 tomato plants...
this little tomato plant looks ready to be planted, I have not gotten there yet....

and some little lettuce in Mini pots- they are soo cute! :)

Gardening & Companion Planting

Here are some Good tips that I have found in this Book-

The Mix and Match Guide to Companion Planting by: Josie Jeffery

A Must read for Gardening Tips and etc. LOVED the book!!!

It was So helpful and has wonderful detailed pictures!!

Tips below so I can remember plus share with anyone reading this :)

Tips:

* Spinach & Mint - grows well with Strawberry Plants

*Lettuce- grows Good with Radishes

*Tomatoes- good with Asparagus

*Peaches- Keep them Moist in the Harvest!

*Zucchini- cut frequently to encourage more fruit to form

*Basil - does well inside/in flower pot..no higher heat inside then 95

*Chives- cut close to ground/ flowers are also edible

*Garlic- split bulbs and plant 2-4 inches in the grow/but do not grow by Strawberries

*Lavender- cut flower stalks before flowers open. Dried flowers are used for perfume.
Also Helps for Apples!

*Grapes- plant rose bush nearby to keep away pest and etc,

*Rosemary- Do Not Plant with Potatoes, Tomatoes or Cucumbers.

*Chives- Help Pears

*Marjoram - Good with Sweet Peppers

*Peas- Good with Turnips

*Potatoes- Do Not Plant near Sunflowers!

What I have Learned so far...

So Sunday we had some hail / tornado weather - Monday we had a wild little snow storm....

Insane 4 sure - so all this weather did not help my plants....so sad I lost close to 10 plants...

2 - zucchini

2- tomato

and etc.....

Made me sooooo  Sad!

2 much Heat (like past 95 degress) + no ventilation = Dead Plants

well not all of them will die...but don't be surprised when some do...

Transplanting

I cannot believe I have sooo many little baby plants I am running out of space....ahhh ...

TRANSPLANTING PLANTS- There is really nothing to it...Transplanting takes time, patience and lots of practice.....use towel paper rolls or even paper towel roll (cut into segments ) and then wrap with newspaper...Like making mini Paper Mache bowls..if the paper of cardboard is not bending to your will ...use a spray bottle to gently moisten paper -if you go spray bottle crazy....just let it dry a bit and come back to it... Do Not worry that they don't look perfect! Its ok- its going in the dirt!!! :) Good Luck!! http://instagram.com/p/mjws5TGoHB/    pic of my Lettuce, Spinach! ;)

Growth

Lots of Growth so far! http://instagram.com/p/mefvhNmoCi/

The Greenhouse has really been helpful - but if you got room in your kitchen by the window that would be perfect as well! Right now, I am growing Lavender and a couple of other house plants by my Kitchen window! :)

O- And Happy April Fools Day!
